How to Choose Colours for Interior Painting
Take Your Time to Consider Your Colour Selection
Be advised that before we apply paint to your wall, the Professionals will supply you with painted poster board samples.
This will allow you to prop the poster board against the wall and observe how the colour strikes you you at different times of the day as natural light conditions change.
Take your time to choose your colour. We encourage our customers to take all the time they need because we know that choosing paint colours is a process that deserves time and reflection.
Start with some research on best interior wall paints and designs.
What are the most popular wall paint colours right now? What are the best colour selections for my interiors? These are some of the fundamental questions you should ask yourself.
Look for Inspiration
If you can’t find a colour that you like – and that you like in your home – look for inspiration. Some ideas are almost right in front of you, while others may require some research.
Consider:
- The colour of your upholstery, rugs or throw pillows
- The dominant colour in a favoured work of art
- The trim on a piece of furniture you’d like to draw attention to (since a comparable paint colour will make that item “pop”)
- Magazines, catalogues or Pinterest (a treasure trove of ideas, as long as you have the time to browse)
Decide Personality and Mood
Decide on the personality of the room. We believe that using personality and emotion as a backdrop is important. Do you want a colour that will calm and soothe you (like in a bedroom) or will engage and energize you (such as a home office)?
Keep the wall paint colour neutral and balanced

Determine where you want the room’s main focus to be. If you want the walls to be the center of attention, choose strong, vibrant colours.
The Colour Wheel
Prepare to have fun with a colour wheel. Also known as a colour scheme, and it may help you decide on a lot of things, including paint, decorations, and window treatments.
